Functional Lab Assessments
Thrive Medical has access to a variety of cutting edge laboratory assessments that can give us a much deeper look at the biochemical processes happening in your body. This information provides a concrete base for us to build up from.
Let's dive in to how these can help you.

GI Map
Comprehensive Stool Testing
"The GI-MAP (Microbial Assay Plus) is unique in the field of comprehensive stool testing. It relies exclusively on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to detect parasites, bacteria, fungi, and more, by targeting the specific DNA of the organisms tested."

Microbiome
Trillions of microorganisms inhabit the human intestine to make up a complex ecosystem that plays an important role in human health. The GI Map will test for pathogens, commensal bacteria and opportunistic bacteria, while also checking for yeast, parasites and viruses. This testing is far more comprehensive than the standard stool culture and Ova & Parasites test done in conventional medicine practices.
Understanding the levels of these microbes is useful because their job is to extract nutrients and energy from our diets, maintain gut barrier function, produce vitamins (biotin and vitamin K), and protect against colonization by potential pathogens. Overgrowth and excessive colonization by opportunistic bacteria may occur when the commensal bacteria are impaired by poor diet, antibiotic use, parasitic infection, or a weakened immune system.
The GI Map will provide a quantitative reading of the microorganisms most important to your health and together we will create a plan to achieve the optimal balance.

Intestinal Health Markers
GI Map testing will assess many markers of intestinal and digestive health. Markers such as calprotectin and immunoglobulins can help us distinguish between IBS and IBD while also assessing the strength of your immune system.
It also tests Anti-gliadan IgA , which is a marker for gluten sensitivity and Elastase, a pancreatic enzyme.
All of these pieces work together so understanding their levels quantitatively can help us address the areas that are lacking in the system as a whole.

GI Map gut health assessment is a valuable tool for anyone looking to optimize their health. It can be helpful for anyone looking for improved health, but it can be life-changing for those who are trying to heal a chronic condition or those who have been frustrated without a diagnosis for years.
Some conditions that would benefit from testing are:
IBS/IBD
Autoimmune Disease
Brain Fog
Depression
Anxiety
Chronic Constipation
or Diarrhea
Diabetes
Weight Loss Issues

Organic Acid Comprehensive
Metabolic Profile
We are so excited to offer Comprehensive Metabolic Profiling,
a non-invasive, personalized nutritional assessment.

This is a unique combination of nutritional tests that provide an analysis of key nutritional biomarkers. Through a first morning void (FMV) urine collection, with optional add-on bloodspot finger stick, this test is a way to assess your functional need for antioxidants, B-vitamins, minerals, digestive support, fatty acids, and amino acids.
Information gained from this testing, will help us to target nutritional therapies to meet your precise needs.

Additionally, because of our partnership with Revival Infusions, we can tailor IV infusions to fit your exact metabolic and nutritional needs. If you are local to northeast Wyoming, every visit for Comprehensive Metabolic Profiling will include a complementary Wellness Exam for Revival Infusions.

Metabolic Processing
Through urine and blood, we can identify specific metabolites that assess your mitochondrial and cellular energy capabilities, the byproducts of your neurotransmitters (to help manage mood disorders,) and oxalate markers for oxidative stress and metabolic dysfunction. These are just a few examples of the many metabolic processes we can analyze.

Nutritional Status
Not only can we assess the functional levels of each essential vitamin, mineral, amino acid and fatty acid, but we can also determine exactly how much of each one your body needs for optimal health.

Detoxification
A functional score will be provided to you which reflects your methylation status and toxic exposures, both of which signify need for assistance with detoxification.
We are able to add on MTHFR and other SNP testing to further understand your genetic function.
